Biography
He was born in Moscow on May 31, 1947. In 1966 after graduation from the Moscow Choreographic School (now the Moscow State Choreographic Academy) he joined the Bolshoi Ballet Company.
His career once again confirmed the validity of an old theatrical aphorism — “there are no small parts, only small actors”. Vasily Vorokhobko was a permanent member of the Grigorovich “team”, a real master of cameo appearances with an outstanding acting talent. In 1988 he graduated from the choreography department of the Leningrad state conservatory n.a. N.A. Rimsky-Korsakov.
In 1998 he finished dancing and started to work as a choreographer-repetiteur at the Bolshoi Theater.
Almost all ballet dancers rehearsed certain parts under his guidance.
