Stanislav Kuflyuk

Biography

Born in Ukraine, Stanislav Kuflyuk graduated with honors from the vocal department of the Art Institute in Ivano-Frankivsk, Ukraine (prof. M. Stefaniuk), Poznan Music Akademy (prof. Iwona Hossa).

He made his operatic debut at the age of 24, as Rangoni in Yuri Alexandrov’s mega production of Boris Godunov at the Wrocław Opera (Poland) and has later performed at the stages of Polish National Opera in Warsaw, Grand Theatre Poznań, Silesian Opera in Bytom, Kraków Opera, Summer Festival Bydgoszcz Opera Festival, Contemporary Opera Festival in Wrocław and Bregenzer Festspiele.

Recent engagements include Prince Yeletsky in Lev Dodin’s production of The Queen of Spades and Figaro in Il Barbiere di Siviglia at Bolshoi Theatre, Moscow, Gerhard in Peter Herber’s Trans-Maghreb at the Bregenzer Festspiele, Don Giovanni (Poznań), Miecznik in The Haunted Manor (Polish National Opera), The Portrait (Weinberg) and Figaro Gets a Divorce (Langer) in David Pountney production.

He also realized Global echoes of the world premiere of Anton Rubinstein’s Moses under the baton of Michail Jurowski (Warner Classics) sing the Title role.

His operatic repertoire comprises roles as Prince Yeletsky in The Queen of Spades, Enrico in Lucia di Lammermoor, Escamillo in Carmen, Valentine in Faust, Moniuszko’s Janusz in Halka, Miecznik in The Haunted Manor and Stanislav in Verbum Nobile, Guglielmo in Così fan tutte, Gryaznoy in The Tsar’s Bride, Robert in Iolanta, and Renato in Un ballo in maschera among others.

He was also heard as Figaro in Il barbiere di Siviglia, Ford in Falstaff, Albert in Werther, Marcello in La Bohème and Eugene Onegin, Silvio in Pagliacci, Alfio in Cavalleria rusticana, Don Giovanni, Eugene Onegin, Janusz in Halka, Miecznik in The Haunted Manor, Count Almaviva in Le nozze di Figaro, Germon in La Traviata, Rodrigo di Posa in Don Carlos, Sharpless in Madama Butterfly, and Belcore in L’elisir d’amore.

Stanislav Kuflyuk is the winner of many international singing competitions such as the Moniuszko Competition and Festival in Brest, Belarus (2^nd Prize, 2001), the Kopnin Opera Competition in Drogobych, Ukraine (1^st Prize, 2004), 21^st century art Competition in Lempaala, Finland (Grand Prix, 2005), the First Irina Malanyuk Opera Competition in Ivano-Frankivsk, Ukraine (Grand Prix, 2007), 14^th Ada Sari International Vocal Artistry Competition in Nowy Sącz, Poland (3^rd Prize, 2011), and Adam Didur International Opera Competition in Katowice, Poland (Grand Prix, 2012).
