The Bolshoi Ballet is the first Russian Company to win an ECA (Event Cinema Association – an international company promoting events on the screen) award. We share our award with our partner Pathé Live which helps us screen our productions worldwide (the last ‘direct hit’ was last night when movie audiences all over the world attended a ‘live’ performance of the Bolshoi’s production of Lady of the Camellias). The ECA’s Bronze Box Office Award is given when audiences for a particular event reach the one hundred thousand mark and over. We have achieved this twice: at the beginning of 2015 one hundred and ten thousand movie goers watched the Bolshoi’s Nutcracker and one hundred twenty thousand - our Swan Lake.
